Therapy Miniature Foals

Our mini foals stay with their moms until they are 6 months of age. We keep detailed birth and vet records of our foals  We have not and do not sell a foal that is under 6 months of age unless the mare needs it weaned sooner in order for her to maintain a healthy safe weight. Our practice for the last 22+ years has ALWAYS been to wean at 6 months. There are lots of breeders that wean at 3 & 4 months of age regardless and we do not support that practice. Our minis are very well loved and receive top notch care.  We are a small breeding farm and only produce a few top quality foals a year, this allows us to spend a lot of one on one time with each of our foals. Even when we are handling our foals at a young age they are NEVER separated from their mothers. We also only believe in the VERY long process of Stress Free Gradual weaning!

Miniature horses grow until 3 years of age and will grow a minimum of 2-3" to whatever their yearling height is regardless if their tail touches the ground or not!  For instance a yearling that measures 25" will not stay 25" nor will it mature to only 26". It will mature to 28-29" at least. There are online charts that will tell you what a young prospect will mature too!  Height is measured from ground to last hair on mane.  Always make sure to get updated measurements on foals!
